North Stoneham & Bassett is an inclusive parish within the Church of England, bringing together three churches—All Saints, St Michael & All Angels, and St Nicolas—each with its own distinctive worship and community life. We believe that every person is welcomed by God without condition, and we seek to offer that same hospitality across our parish. Through our outreach projects, community gatherings, pastoral support, children’s ministry, music, and prayer, we aim to serve our neighbours with compassion and to stand alongside those who are vulnerable, overlooked, or in need. We are committed to celebrating the breadth of Christian tradition in ways that affirm the dignity and worth of all.
Worship at our parish
Ours is a vibrant and active parish shaped by a variety of worship styles, moments of quiet prayer, and opportunities for fellowship throughout the week. From choral Eucharists and all-age services at St Michael’s, to the warm, informal gatherings at All Saints, to creative worship and community activities at St Nicolas, each church offers a place to grow in faith and belonging. Morning and daily prayer, children’s groups, community cafés, and regular services across all three buildings form the heartbeat of our shared life. Full details of worship times, events, and ministries can be found throughout this website—but wherever you are on your journey of faith, you are warmly welcome at NSAB.

The robed choir of St Michael and All Angels has led worship continuously since the church’s dedication in 1898 and remains a cornerstone of the parish’s musical life. Known for its rich Anglican choral tradition and high-quality repertoire—now numbering over a thousand pieces—the choir leads the monthly choral Eucharist and twice-monthly Evensongs, as well as festival services and concerts. During the pandemic, members sustained worship through online recordings that continue to attract thousands of views on the parish YouTube channel. The choir’s ministry not only enriches worship but also strengthens links with the University of Southampton and the wider musical community.
The Junior Choir, based at St Michael and All Angels, offers children and young people the chance to develop their musical and spiritual gifts in an encouraging environment. Meeting weekly to rehearse, they sing regularly alongside the senior choir and lead the monthly all-age service. In keeping with the parish’s inclusive ethos, children are encouraged to take an active part in worship—helping to prepare the Eucharistic table and receiving Communion. The group continues to grow, drawing families into the church community and nurturing a new generation of confident, faith-filled musicians.
Baptism marks the beginning of an amazing journey of faith, for you or your child, within the family of the Church. We welcome everyone who would like to explore this step, whether you’re new to church or have long-standing connections. Services are relaxed and joyful occasions where we celebrate God’s love and pray for those being baptised and their families. Our team will help you prepare for the day and support you as you continue your journey of faith.
Whether you’re planning a small, intimate ceremony or a joyful celebration with family and friends, we’d love to help make your special day meaningful and memorable. A church wedding lets you begin married life in God’s presence and with His blessing.
When someone dies, we offer care, comfort, and a place to give thanks and say goodbye in the light of God’s love. Our clergy and pastoral team will support you in creating a service that truly honours your loved one.
